i'm thinking of doing sales leadership. my area manager is coming on wednesday. any advice would be great. is it hard to get started? does it take up alot of time? do you find it easy to get reps?
any advice much apprieciated
I am also in the same boat, well almost...
I want to become a sales leader and have 3 'potential' recruits. Yet to speak to any of them, and well, they all may say no in the end. So any help/ideas on getting those first 5 would be MUCH appreciated here too.
I have yet to contact my area manager, I lost her phone number... Anyone know how I can get it back?
edited to ask:
Are there any rules about who you CAN'T recruit? Like say family (partner/mum/sister whatever) or other flatmates?
Hi Aims what I would do is just contact the Sales Leader who signed you up who will be able to locate your area managers details for you. I wouldn't worry too much about your recruits if they're keen enough they'll hang on a little longer - recruits are something we're rarely short of
Your Sales Leader or Area Manager should take you out canvassing anyway to show you the Sales Leader ropes and how it's done and be supporting you through the first few campaigns so you don't have to feel like you're having to figure it all on your own sheesh the thought of it!
Did you ever get a hold of your AM Wend?

Thanks for the advice, but my upline lives far away and I don't feel I get on with her at all. She will not be canvassing any areas with me or showing me the ropes it seems. I will have to hope my area manager is more friendly and helpful. I will call my upline tomorrow and get those details at least.
Area Managers get to be Area Managers since they usually get on with everyone and are normally well presented you should just hang out to speak to her instead. If you get any problems with your Sales Leader don't be shy to let your AM know about it that's what they're there for x
As for who you can and can't recruit, I think the only rule is that they must be over 18. Apart from that anyone's welcome x
Got in touch with my area manager today, she should be mailing me some stuff out. Touched base with my upline too. Am feeling quite positive about getting my new reps. Got 4 people to discuss the matter with. One VERY likely candidate - it's pretty much in the bag. Hopefully the others will join too. You don't realise what a good opportunity it is until you give it a go.
Well theres the power of positive thinking I'm really happy for you chick you sounded a bit down about it the other night but glad it's all coming together for you x
Would you believe I had no more than 1 hr sleep last night? I am determined not to let my upline manager bother me. I prefer to believe that she's a sound person all the same... Well One of my 3 possibles turned out to be a NO, not a out and out no, she would consider it down the line, but at this time it's not for her. This is a good response, I am happy that she was willing to consider it. On the plus side I got an email from an old friend today and am hopeful that she may be a good lead. She's definately looking for a way to earn extra money, so fingers crossed!!! Also my very likely just went YES! So I have to get 2 more for stage 1. Yays!
NO ,STILL NOT SPOKE TO HER! NOT SURE WHAT TO DO REALLY AS I HAVE NO ONE TO SIGN UP. MAYBE THE TIME ISNT RIGHT YET! ALTHOUGH I REALLY WANNA EARN SOME EXTRA CASH.

No time like the present babe what I'd do personally is give it one last shot and give her a call to arrange another appointment.
If she doesn't appear or can't make it you could try giving Avon Customer Services a ring and explain it to them who I'm sure will sort it all out for you.

ive found the easiest people to sell the avon opportunity to is young avon customers. you could try them first. if you live in a busy enough area, some business cards can do the trick or you can canvass at supermarkets or malls.

Hello everyone,
thanks for the tip, thats a good idea trying to sell the AVON opportunity to younger people. I might not get the 'no time' answers as much. Got my 1st 2 reps confirmed. Just need 1 more for stage 1 and 3 more overall. Still got one friend to approach. Fingers crossed.
What do you guys put on a business card aside contact details? Anyone got any examples?
Yep just stay simple with it. I usually find headings like "Earn extra cash quickly" are good attention grabbers. As soon as you mention that theres money to be made, people usually tune in.
Something witty like "Earn extra cash fast with Avon Cosmetics - The world is waiting!! Call: Me on 01234 567890 but I'm sure anyone else could come up with a million more catchy jingles I'd like to hear a few of them.
Might be a good idea to start a new thread just on catchy business card ideas?
i finally spoke to ASM today. she's gonna get me tagged and set me up on the 12th may. scary!!! well, i decided now was as good a time as any, what with the big advertising coming at the end of the month.
wish me luck!
