While we were on the "name my cat" subject, I started thinking about baby names too. Does anyone know any unusual baby names? Denim was about the best one I could think of (that I liked anyway) I've always liked Jacob for a boy and Nicole for a girl
Keep going with the baby names. I have a little boy due in 3 weeks and at the moment think he is going to get 'boy' as a name as me and my husband can not agree at all.
He likes Jack and is adamant that is what it is going to be and won't budge with anything else. I quite like Kye or Corey.
When I was one the maternity ward with my eldest son there was a woman next door to me that had called her child Diesel!! Hmmm maybe Petrol would be good rofl! My two boys are Finley Jack and Harley Daniel note the middle names my husband loves his Jack Daniels!!
our surname is Patterson which was annoying as I loved the name Harrison when I was pregnant, also for a girl Madison! Stevie xx

I can see it happening, especially since brand names are now apparently acceptable choices for children. Perhaps I should have kept up to date with the new trend myself and named my daughter TESCO, after my workplace... No, not me, i'm too uncool for that. Went for something a little more conventional - Jessica
Thats actually really nice how come no one thought of that earlier lol would be even funnier if Avon started nit picking about how they have legal ownership rights over the name and decided to take legal action
being saddled with crystal when unusual names were not so commonplace put me off for life! My son is nice, normal Daniel

Did you have a hard time? I am not a big fan of unuasual names, I wouldn't want my child to be bullied just because I had to have a unique name for my child. Not that all unusual names are horrible of course, but those are the ones that spring to mind...
my friend once joked that, when she was with her ex fiance, if they had a girl they woudl caller her Indy Anna as their surname would have been Jones hahahah.
My little Lady is called Alexis Skye - Lexi for short. I thought it was unusual at the time but there are plenty around now! (think there are characters on ugly betty and emmerdale called Lexi so that might have something to do with the increase lol) A lady on the same maternity ward as me called her little one jemina (probably spelt wrong there) and all I thought every time she said it was puddleduck its not really a name you hear very often x

I wouldn't worry about not having a name before the baby arrives. I wanted to call my little boy Ashton before he was born, but my partners name is Perkins and there's an estate agents called Ashton & Perkins near here, so that wasn't going to work!! Plus everyone kept assuming that it was after Dean Ashton as my OH is a West Ham fan. As a Gooner I wasn't having that!!!
Just after he was born we decided on Ellis with Bailey as a middle name. Interestingly, out of 5 boys born from our NCT class, ours was the only modern name, everyone else went traditional. The 3 girls were more modern.
Aoibhean, or Evan, Or Aven, or Evaine are all forms of the same Irish Name, not sure if Avon is a celtic name or an Anglo Saxon name, but Avon IS named after the river Avon.

I thought I was giving my wee boy an unusual name with Logan, then within 5 years its become common as muck!
Re: Designer Names - My neighbours grandkids are called Hugo and Elle. Thank God her daughter didn't have any more....baby Versace, baby D&G, baby Billabong... LOL
