Im a rep in New Zealand, and have been for about a year.
Ive recently started noticing avon downsizing some products.

For Example:

Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation - used to be about 18g pot.. "new and improved" range is only 6g. thats a HUGE reduction.

Solutions Skincare - especially the "double sided" pots, it used to be about 80g total (40g on each side).
I see in the current brochure they are now only a combined weight of 40g!!! 50% reduction!
the price is the same as before or more.

Ive noticed this on other products like deodarants or shampoos etc. There is no warning about this, and while most of them arent huge reductions..when you get something like the foundation drop about 60-70% of the size and cost the same its pretty shit value compared to stuff you can buy in the shops.

has anyone else noticed this? Anyone know why this is happening?

In my opinion its a pretty bad look, where customers get to know and love a certain product, its not even that cheap and then they reduce the size so drastically without reason...ridiculous. it would make me want to buy elsewhere personally!

I hadn't noticed but i'm guessing its so avon can still offer certain products at certain prices, much like penny sweets being much smaller than they were years ago.

I haven't noticed anything either, and no-one has mentioned anything to me on my territory about it. I suppose if people are still willing to pay for it, then it doesn't matter so much.
