Selling Avon
It's not all about hard selling when working with Avon but selling Avon products and things does bring in handy extra cash - and usually when you need it most.
Firstly, know who your customers are. Avon has been a hit with the ladies for so long - probably almost as far back as when we carried clubs and grunted - so you should be off to a flying start when developing a good reliable customer base of your own. Family and friends should always be first on your list of things to do.
Secondly, you would be surprised at how many girls out there are actively looking for an Avon catalogue. This website receives loads of hits every week from ladies looking for a brochure. Not interested in joining up, browsing the forum or complimenting us on how nice the website's looking - no, just a brochure please - so a card or flyer in a shop window works well in snagging passers by.
Next it's on to your neighbours. When you join Avon you'll be allocated a territory which will be a few streets local to you. This territory is allocated to you specifically and will only be served by you so get out there and post your books. If your customers don't know you exist, they'll never order anything and once you build a reliable customer base from your allocated streets, you can apply for more territory and expand your Avon business further if you're the ambitious type.
The key is to never get ahead of yourself - start small and always take one thing at a time. Something worth noting is that with Avon, it's really easy to get over enthusiastic and try to take over the world only to end up feeling a little disillusioned and frustrated when you realise that not everyone wants a brochure and those who do take one might not place an order. But by taking each order as it comes, you'll soon see a steady flow of books going out, orders coming in and of course, your ever growing commission. This is where a little persistence pays off.
The good thing about Avon is that it pretty much sells itself and as practically everybody in the solar system is already familiar with the company and probably already love some of the products anyway, it isn't hard to make a go of things and you really don't need a sales pitch to get things moving, which is nice. If you ever need any tips, tricks or tactics to help you gather more customers, keep current ones or entice old ones back, you're always welcome on our forum where there's loads of ideas just waiting to be tried and tested.
Selling Avon can be a fun and rewarding adventure if you're just looking for fast extra cash but if you're looking for a reliable permanent income - remember, it's a business just like any other - it does take time, patience and determination!
